Halloween is a holiday that is celebrated every year on the 31st October in America, the UK and many other countries in Europe. As always, we celebrated with lots of excitement!

Our Nursery school students celebrated Halloween on Friday, 29th October. Once October came, they were excited that at the end of it we would be celebrating the traditional holiday of the USA and the UK.
Halloween is a holiday that is celebrated every year on the 31st October in America, the UK and many other countries in Europe. This is the day where not only children and teenagers, but also adults, dress up in the spookiest and scariest costumes – jack o’ lanterns, ghosts, witches with their brooms, skeletons, zombies, etc. – and they go from house to house, chanting “Trick-or-Treat” and getting different candies.
As always, we celebrated with lots of excitement! Our nursery school students started our week by making baskets to use for trick-or-treating. We also learned a few words that related to Halloween, such as pumpkin, spider, bat, skeleton, witch, trick-or-treat and Happy Halloween. As the week progressed, we made our own spiders in a web and sang “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”. During another lesson, we worked together as a class to use autumn colours to make our pumpkins using oil pastels. We danced to and sang Halloween songs, and we had a spooky fun time.
The Halloween celebration took place on Friday during our English lessons, where the children dressed up in their costumes. We went trick-or-treating, played spooky games (“Pin the face on the pumpkin” was a hit!), and even tried a little experiment (we used a clear container, a clear glass cup, and some black watercolour paint to see the hidden Halloween pictures – we encourage you to try it at home!). It was a fantastic day and the children had fun learning about the Halloween customs and traditions.
