On Monday 30th May, the Primary 5 students of Rodion Paideia had their English and Physical Education classes at the ancient stadium of Rhodes, in a cross-curricular lesson on The Olympic Games.

Teachers: Ms. Rania Angeli (English) and Ms. Maria Leventi (Physical Education)

Students took part in a lesson in English about the history and traditions of the ancient and modern Olympic Games. They also learned interesting facts about some of the most famous Olympic medalists.

Following the English lesson, and under the direction of their physical education teacher, students participated in their own “mini-Olympics”.

After a warmup lap around the ancient stadium and some stretching, the games began. They included relay races, a shot put competition and several rounds of tug of war. Tug of war proved to be the most popular event of the day and we even had some spectators!
